Above all things, I feel a commitment and duty towards service. Especially service as it pertains to our Youth. In particular, I coach many different youth sports teams (Volleyball - Lacrosse - Flag Football), serve on an Athletic Board, mentor students (both past and present) and serve on numerous charitable committees (and boards) all focused on giving back to the community.
Coaching and mentoring is a privilege, I truly see it as an honor to help students achieve their dreams and aspirations. I have seen firsthand how beneficial competition, exercise, and consistency benefit our youth. I do this as a service, and I love it. It's hard work, stressful, time-consuming, wonderful, and very rewarding!
Indeed, engaging in sports improves physical fitness and overall health, leading to increased energy levels, reduced stress, and enhanced mood. According to a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, regular participation in sports is associated with a lower risk of developing chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity, which can have a positive impact on one's confidence and outlook on life. Not everyone needs to be the best, simply giving it a shot and trying also speaks volumes about current and future success.
